  SUKUNAN VILLAGE
Other than sharing a bit of information, GROW was not able to give too much help to the village of Sukunan. They didn’t need it! For the past ten years they have been helping themselves. Less than 10 years ago a newcomer named Iswanto, married into the village and with him he brought an environmental background and a dream. He coupled that with a little bit of funding from a small Australian organization, and ten years later he has changed the lives of hundreds of people in his community and throughout Indonesia.

When GROW walked around the community with Iswanto, he showed us the rice fields that used to be filled with chemicals and littered with trash- now healthy, organic, and pristine.
